Alice in Wonder Land

Because my schedule is so different, many times I don't know what day it is until I check my cell phone. So I just realized I need to get this article to Donna today, Friday, because the news office will be closed Monday for Labor Day.

On Labor Day, September 1, 2014, I wrote in my journal “off work (at San Saba News) and really worked, cleaned my office, can see floor and table now.”

This past Wednesday, Zeta Payne came to my home for a 'girl time.' We went and ate at the Pizza Cottage just across the road from the condos, came back and got caught up on our lives. Zeta's family were members of our church. That evening, Joan Van Gorp called me, so the day ended with me feeling so blessed and thankful for these dear friends. I remembered saying goodbye to Zeta in 2006 when we moved to San Saba, and goodbye to Joan in 2021, moving to Zanesville.

Yesterday, I went to my daughter Jenny's and watched the Ohio State Buckeyes play their first game of the season on TV. It was their new quarterback's first game, so a lot of attention and comments were focused on him. He did quite well because they won! Jenny's husband Bill was inspecting a roof in Minnesota and was able to be at the game.

On my walk this morning with Ellie, Sue Vousden told me that she has scheduled a Bible study the 1st Tuesday of every month at the Community Building across the street from where I live. Sue knows that I am from Dresden, so she told me that Myron Lacy and his wife from Dresden live here in a condo. I came home and got out my 1959 year book and found out Myron was a Freshman when I was a Senior.

The front page of the San Saba News & Star, August 26th edition, gave excellent articles about the Delta Variant and COVID-19. There have been many unpleasant and heart breaking situations. God is always there when we arise above the situation.
