Alice in Wonder Land

I am looking forward to my first Community Party this evening at 6 p.m. in the Community Building across the street from me. The evening will include food, fellowship, corn hole, music, and getting to know one another, especially our newest members (that be me).

Tomorrow I will take my chocolate Labrador, Ellie, to the veterinarian about 10 minutes across town. Ellie does not like going to the "vet" or riding in a car. Her last trip to the vet in San Saba, she would not get out of the car, so two gals came and literally carried her inside.

Last week, I was notified that I was not in compliance to the regulation of "anything attached to the porch railing or building." I had my son-in-law, Bill, attach my hose holder and "cowboy talkin' to the Boss" to the outside of the porch by the faucet. I had to call him about this, so he came and put them on the ground below where they were attached. I am going to try to avoid the person who contacted me about this and the trashcan situation when I go to the Community Party this evening.

I have heard that grieving has stages you go through, but it's always there. My situation has been difficult because my dear husband is not here with me and also my dear friends and job at the San Saba News is far away. I am thankful for the texts and phone calls but I miss the hugs, tacos at Dairy Queen, prayer time and services at The Father's House, prison choir, singing with SWOSWT, working at San Saba News & Star, eating at Pepperbelly's, and being a part of a small community.

So, I am learning that God gives us difficult things to do and sometimes we tested for all we are worth. I will love and serve Him and depend on His mercy and grace.
