I have decided to take the quilting bull by the horns and buckle down. I have had the hardest time over the past few months trying to get this grey baby girl quilt to take shape. I’ve ruined a few pieces of material and racked my brains for something that would spark my creative juices.

I guess we are entering our fall season. I was positive Friday night as I stood at the gate collecting money for an absolutely nail-biting game. That wind and cooler temperatures meant I needed a jacket. Coyote and Indian fans were treated to a tremendously exciting and long game.

For too long, cow-calf producers across the nation have marketed our cattle with one hand tied behind our back. The culprit has been an evergrowing lack of price discovery. In the free market, accurate pricing of a commodity depends upon the free flow of information up and down the supply chain.

After 35 years of preaching, I have asked about people’s church connection literally thousands of times. I have heard a variety of answers that connects them to one church or another in the region. I sometimes follow-up with a second question, namely, “Who is the pastor of that church?

I want to start the column off with a disclaimer. There will be no Monday Kid’s Church on the 19th. Monday Church has seven school staff members and about four non-school staff members. This coming Monday we will all be in a meeting. Monday Church will resume on the 26th.

Like the rest of this year, this school year is vanishing at a rapid rate. We are going into our eighth week of school. We have three of five home games completed in football, and one of the two remaining may not make. Before we know it, we will be in playoff season.
