Once again, this community proved that we have a huge heart. Thanks to the Garcia family, a benefit fish fry was held on Sunday after church, and members of the community came to enjoy and donate for the Uvalde families. A biodegradable balloon launch followed the meal.

Wildfires continue across state Firefighters are looking to the skies for much-needed rain this week as crews continue battling wildfires across the state. Fires reported Sunday by the Texas A&M Forest Service were being fought in Brown, Taylor, Wilbarger, Llano, Schleicher and San Saba counties.

A few days from now, a chapter in my life will be closing and a new one starting. It’s hard to move from your comfort zone to the unknown. Most of my adult life has been linked to teaching and to the unconditional love given by children. It doesn’t mean life was perfect.
