Dear Community, Below is just a snapshot of what your local Rotary Club does for San Saba.
1. With the local Garden Club, our members clean up US highway 190 on a quarterly basis to help keep our city clean and appealing to visitors.
2. The San Saba Golf Tournament -This event raises over $13,000 which helps to support the annual Student Honor Banquet held in the Spring for area students from San Saba, Cherokee, and Richland Springs.
3. The Rotary Youth Leadership Awards – We send four-six students every spring to this conference held at the John Newcombe Tennis Ranch in New Braunfels. Our students join 150 other students in Leadership Training.
4. The Annual Honor Student Banquet – Our club hosts a 300-plate dinner honoring the students of San Saba, Cherokee, and Richland Springs.
5. Our club awards over $5000 in scholarships to area students to continue their education after high school.
6. Assist Mission San Saba – Our club donated both funds and sweat equity to assist in the restoration of a home in the San Saba Community.
7. Dillo Flags – Our club posts Dillo Flags at all our home varsity football games.
8. USA Flags – Our club posts US flags throughout the community during the Federal holidays.
9. Our club honors a Student of the Month at the school with a recognition certificate and invitation to be our guest at our weekly luncheon.
10. Every other year we host a political forum for candidates running for office.
In closing, we wish the community of San Saba, Cherokee, and Richland Springs the happiest of holidays.
