What is Truth? There is a saying called “Thinking outside the box” which means that there may be a novel way of thinking about a subject. One such subject is the topic of Global Warming or Climate Change by which it's now referred. There has been the assumption that climate change is largely being caused by human activity and that it will have a negative impact on our globe. There is the assumption that the earth is billions of years old and human beings have evolved and are causing untold damage to the earth by overpopulation, exploitation of resources and melting of the polar ice caps.
However, what if the Bible is correct and there really was a global flood approximately four thousand years ago? After all, geology shows that the earth's surface is covered with waterborn sediments that have buried billions of plants and animals; exactly what you should find if indeed the Flood is an historic fact. The fossil record reveals a previous world that was far more lush, glorious and warmer than the present day. It would also explain very nicely how such vast amounts of fossil fuels where formed and buried in those sediments. At one time all that carbon was free flowing in the earth's various systems.
So we must ask ourselves, would a warmer earth actually be a bad thing? Sure, there might be some temporary issues we must adjust to such as rising sea levels and weather events, but why would the end result be worse than the present climate? It might actually be better. Would it be such a bad thing if more of the world's population had longer growing seasons and less trouble keeping warm? Maybe God buried all that energy in the sediments because He knew we would need them and by burning fossil fuels we are returning that carbon locked up in these inexpensive, high energy fossil fuels thereby restoring our earth to it's former warmer state.
If the God of the Bible exists and He did destroy a fallen, violent world with a Flood, it appears that even in that destruction He created a way for us to survive in a colder, less prolific world. Then it would seem that if we don't believe God's Word, we make foolish policies as a society such as “The Green New Deal” with it's bird killing windmills and land gobbling solar arrays, which are neither green nor cost effective.
There is this presumption that “Science is Truth,” but that is a misnomer. Science can only confirm what is true in the present time by direct observation. It has a very inconsistent and unreliable record in reconstructing the past or predicting the future, although many want us to believe it can. Many people around the world believe that the God of the Bible created the world and told us through His Holy Word what our history is and what our future portends. Much of the claims of science are directly contradictory to God's testimony. The great thing about God's truth is that it's true whether you believe it or not.
