August Pfluger on Possible Energy Export Ban: President Biden gets it wrong every time
Congressman August Pfluger (TX-11) released a statement following reports that the Biden Administration is considering a ban or limit on exports of refined petroleum products.

August Pfluger Statement on OPEC+ Cutting Production by 2 Million Barrels Per Day
RepresentativeAugust Pfluger (TX-11) released the following statement after OPEC+ announced it would cut oil production by 2 million barrels per day. This production cut comes after President Biden’s visit to Saudi Arabia in July to ask for more oil production overseas.
“Energy is fundamental for our society. President Biden’s crowning policy achievement will be making America more dependent on foreign countries for our energy needs in order to appease Green interest groups. We must refocus on restoring American energy independence. The first step should be ending government-made barriers to oil and gas investment and rolling back regulatory burdens put forth by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Let’s put Odessa, Texas, over OPEC and encourage more American production.”
Pfluger introduces bill to block illegal immigrants from voting in Washington, D.C.
Congressman August Pfluger (TX-11) introduced a new bill to prevent noncitizens from voting in Washington, D.C.The bill follows a nearly-unanimous vote by the D.C. City Council to advance a bill that would allow noncitizens to vote in local elections—even if they have only resided in D.C. for 30 days.
RepresentativeAugust Pfluger: “If you're in the United States illegally, you don't have the right to vote—period. Liberals in Washington, D.C. who want to allow noncitizens to vote are putting the integrity of our election system at risk. My bill will put a stop to it. Americans deserve confidence in our elections and to know that only legal citizens are voting in the United States of America.”
Representative Pfluger is also a cosponsor of The Protecting Our Democracy by Preventing Foreign Citizens from Voting Act which prohibits federal funds from being made available to state or local governments that allow noncitizens to vote in state or local elections.
Pfluger works to protect farmers from harmful Biden Administration climate proposal

On National Farmer’s Day, Representative August Pfluger (TX-11) sent a letter to U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chairman Gary Gensler expressing concern over the SEC’s proposed climate disclosure rule, which will harm U.S. agriculture producers and the economy.
In the letter, Representative Pfluger notes: “The immense task of monitoring and reporting emissions data will fall to those who lack the financial resources and sophisticated technology to document required disclosure information. The cost of this effort will increase production costs at a time of record inflation and inhibit American producers' ability to compete in the global market and encourage further consolidation across supply chains. The SEC's climate disclosure rule will prove to be disastrous for the agriculture industry and our nation's food security … A nation that can feed itself is inherently safer and more secure than one that cannot. This rule unduly burdens rural communities and threatens both our economic and national security.”
Representative Pfluger also emphasizes the significance of the agriculture industry, which contributes over $100 billion in value to the U.S. GDP, and asks how the SEC will insulate agribusinesses of all sizes from the immeasurable negative impacts of the proposed rule.
