Rep. Pfluger Statement on Biden Administration Blocking American Energy By Canceling Domestic Oil Leases

On May 12th, Congressman August Pfluger (TX-11) released the following statement on the Biden Administration canceling oil leases in Alaska and the Gulf of Mexico:

Representative August Pfluger (TX-11): “President Biden is blaming record-high inflation and skyrocketing energy prices on everyone but himself while canceling domestic oil leases at the same time. His war on American energy through ever-changing policies and uncertain regulations is only making it more difficult to produce energy here at home. I am calling on President Biden to immediately pass the Midland over Moscow Act, reduce barriers to increased production, and unleash American energy.”

Pfluger: Power grid at risk from Russian cyberattacks and blackouts

This week, week of June 9th, Congressman August Pfluger (TX-11) sent a letter to Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm demanding answers from the Biden Administration on their plan to prepare for and prevent dangerous electricity blackouts that the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) is predicting for summer 2022.

In the letter, Congressman Pfluger warns that increased threats to our power grid from rogue actors like Russia, com-bined with reserve capacity shortages, risk setting off a nationwide reliability crisis.

Representative August Pfluger: "Summer blackouts are coming because our policymakers have made our country totally reliant on unreliable energy sources. A decades-long smear campaign executed by green special interest groups against reliable thermal power sources like natural gas and nuclear has led to short-sighted policies that discourage the creation of reliable base load sources for our grid. "Having enough energy to

"Having enough energy to keep the lights on in America should be one of our fundamental responsibilities, but I'm afraid the powers that be have taken their eye off the ball when it comes to maintaining a stable, reliable grid. This is not partisan. The U.S. government should be laser-focused on ensuring we have enough energy to power the American economy."

Pfluger exposes possible plan to release busloads of illegal migrants in San Angelo

Wednesday, June 8th, Congressman August Pfluger, the Lead Republican on the Homeland Security Intelligence and Counterterrorism Subcommittee, released a statement exposing the Biden Administration's plan to possibly release busloads of illegal migrants in San Angelo, Texas.

Representative August Pfluger (TX-11): "My office just uncovered that the Department of Homeland Security is planning to possibly release busloads of illegal migrants at stations in the San Angelo area. I have repeatedly told Secretary Mayorkas not to bring illegal migrants into our district, and have received no official response.

"It's past time for officials in Washington to follow the Constitution and protect our local communities from the Democrat policy-created border crisis. President Biden may be happy welcoming millions of illegal immigrants into the interior of the United States, but the 11th District of Texas should not suffer the consequences."
