Pfluger Rebukes Biden’s Attack on Second Amendment

Thursday, April 8th, Congressman Pfluger released a statement rebuking President Biden’s recently announced executive actions that will restrict the Second Amendment Rights of law-abiding citizens:

“Today President Biden is announcing another step in his party’s long-term scheme to strip lawabiding Americans of our Second Amendment Rights. Again, he is ruling by the power of the pen and completely skirting the legislative branch in his quest to snatch power from the American people.”

Pfluger to VP Harris: You’re in Charge of Border, Come See it

Thursday, April 8th, Congressman August Pfluger (TX-11) sent a letter to Vice President Kamala Harris, the appointed lead to the Biden Administration’s border response, regarding condemning the administration’s dangerous border policies, calling attention to the recent allegations of criminal activity at the Midland HHS facility, and imploring the Vice President to visit the Midland HHS immediately.

The letter reads, in part: “In the past 24 hours, there have been multiple reports of allegations of abuse, sexual assault, insufficient staffing and reporting protocols, and numerous COVID infections at facilities in Texas, including the Midland location. These reports have prompted an investigation by Governor Greg Abbott. Additionally, our office has reported these allegations to the HHS Inspector General (IG).

“I call on you to immediately come to our district to see the plight of these minors firsthand. The administration’s refusal to come and visit these areas or respond to our concerns is only making matters worse and endangering more lives. Make no mistake, this is a crisis that must be dealt with immediately.”

Pfluger: Biden Again Blindsides Midland

Monday, April 12th, Congressman August Pfluger (TX-11) released a statement regarding the Midland HHS facility for unaccompanied migrant children:

“I have just learned that the Biden Administration will soon be holding tender-aged children (5-12 years old), both male and female, at the Midland HHS site for unaccompanied illegal migrants alongside teen girls up to the age of 17 years old.

“I have toured this facility and have seen that it absolutely does not meet safety requirements for young children.

“The lack of transparency from the Biden Administration is an outrage. What was initially established as a temporary emergency holding site is again being expanded with zero communication or coordination with Midland law enforcement officers or local officials, despite the Secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas, personally assuring that miscommunications would not happen again. Our neighbors deserve to know what’s going on in our own backyard. I strongly urge DHS and HHS to reverse their decision to bring these children to Midland into a harmful environment.

“This crisis is only going to get worse, as an estimated 25,000 illegal unaccompanied children are expected to cross our southern border in May alone, with human smugglers and cartels exploiting them in every way along the journey.

“I am calling on President Biden and Vice President Harris to take responsibility for their actions, acknowledge the heartbreaking illegal immigration crisis, and take immediate action to secure our border.”
