Two Dillos make All-West Texas baseball team

The San Saba High School varsity baseball team had two individual players honored last week for their superb efforts during the 2021 season that saw the Dillos make the 2A playoffs.

For the 2021 All-West Texas Baseball Team compiled by the San Angelo Standard-Times, the Dillos were well represented by senior Logan Glover and junior Wesley Lackey.

Glover was a solid pitcher and first baseman for San Saba head coach Scott Hayes throughout the 2021 season. The very talented Glover, who will attend Angelo State University on a football scholarship, batted .350 with 13 runs batted in, a .471 on-base percentage, and a .996 slugging percentage.

Lackey was a very good leadoff hitter all season for the Dillos with a .419 batting average, 11 runs batted in. The junior catcher had 12 singles, 3 doubles, 2 triples, and one home run for a San Saba team that squeaked into the playoffs as the fourth seed in District 29-2A after defeating district foes Center Point High School and Junction High School twice apiece.
