On June 13th, the San Saba Tennis Association held an Alumni Tournament with former players, as well as current high school and middle school players. We had 13 Alumni players and seven current players playing in the tournament.
Alumni players playing in the tournament were: Jessica Gonzales, Kristen Isham, Mindy Sebastain, Heather Gonzales, Larry Bourke, Jody Fauley (Wall Alumni), B.J. Pryor, C.J. Greenwell, Enrique Davila, Vishwam Barot, Victor Patino, Nano Zapata, and Diego Lara. Current players playing in tournament were: Audrina Trujillo, Haley Price, Natalie Cuevas, One Nguyen, Trace Temples, Jacob Bourke, and Jefferson Stencil.
In Women’s Singles, Jessica Gonzales won first place, Natalie Cuevas was second, and One Nguyen was third. In Men’s Singles, Diego Gonzales won first place, second place went to C.J.Greenwell, and third place was B.J. Pryor.
In Women’s Doubles, Kristen Isham and Mindy Sebastian won first place, and Natalie Cuevas and One Nguyen was second. Third place went to Audrina Trujillo and Haley Price. In Men’s Doubles Larry Bourke and Jody Fauley won first place, and second place went to Jacob Bourke and Victor Patino. In Mixed Doubles, Mindy Sebastian and Victor Patino won first place, and coming in second place was Kristen Isham and Diego Lara. Third place went to Heather Gonzales and Diego Gonzales.In Middle School singles, Trace Temple won first place and Jefferson Stencil came in second place.
The Tennis Association would like to thank everyone who played for playing and braving the heat. The Tennis Association is having a Junior and Adult League this summer on Tuesdays nights starting at 6:00 p.m. We would like to invite everyone to come out. If you can’t make it right at 6:00, come on out when you can and we will get you on a court playing.
The Tennis Association will be having a doubles tournament with divisions of Father-Son, Father-Daughter, Mother-Son, Mother-Daughter, or Female and Male match up as long as there is at least a 20-year age difference in the two. The date hasn’t been decided yet but we will post the date in the next two weeks. The Tennis Association is hosting a Junior Tournament on July 30-31; deadline to enter is July 26.
