The San Saba Tennis Team will be playing in the Regional 3A & Under Team Tennis Tournament on March 4 - 5. The tennis team will be trying to qualify for the State Team Tournament for the 29th time. Their best results at the State Team Tennis Tournament was second place in 1998. The schedule for the Region V Tournament is as follows.

The top two teams will advance to the State 3A & Under Team Tournament in San Antonio on March 11-12. If you get a chance, come out and support these kids Friday and Saturday.
This past week, the tennis team hosted the San Saba Invitational Tennis Tournament. The JV Tournament on Thursday was canceled because of the weather. The Varsity Tournament was able to play, although it was very cold.
We had 11 teams playing in the tournament. Teams in the tournament besides San Saba were Mason, Winters, Rocksprings, Llano, Florence, Panther Creek, Santa Anna, Burnet, Junction and Eldorado. Playing in the tournament for San Saba were Kalina Shaeffer, Keely Pham, Haleigh Ware, Tanner Proffitt, Natalie Cuevas, Olivia Lusty, Minerva Vasquez, Delaney Ellis, Mia Killman, Dana Luna, Hannah Vines Demaris Patino, Timothy Williams, Polo Davila, Christian Morales, Jacob Singleton, Jose Aguilera, and Justin Hernandez.
In Girls Doubles Division I, Mia Kilman and Dana Luna won 3rd Place. Demaris Patino and Hannah Vines came in 4th place. In Division I Boys Singles, Jacob Singleton came in 4th place. In Division I Boys Doubles, Jose Aguilera and Justin Hernandez won 3rd place. In Division II Girls Singles, Kalina Schaeffer won 3rd place, Keely Pham came in 4th place. In Division II Girls Doubles, Olivia Lusty and Minerva Vasquez came in second place. Haleigh Ware and Tanner Proffitt came in 4th place.
In Division II Boys Singles, Christian Morales won 3rd Place. In Division II Boys Doubles, Timothy Williams and Polo Davila won consolation.
The San Saba Tennis Association has some exciting news. The tennis association now has a website you can go to. The website is <www.sansabatennis.org>. In the website, you will find some past history, upcoming tournaments and you can register and pay entry fees for the tournaments online now. When the dates for tennis camps and lessons come available that will be on the website also. There is place you can donate to tennis association; we are also selling brick payers that will be laid down at the new tennis courts by the store room. Also you can become a member of the association online also. There will much more coming soon. I want to thank Christi Mays for all the hard work she put into getting the website up and going.
