Mandi Fry won Third Place in the 2024 Hickory UWCD No. 1 Annual Poster Contest. Mandi is a 5th Grade student in Ms. Padgett’s class at Cherokee Elementary School.
The theme for this year’s poster contest was Water Is Essential To Life! The contest was open to all area 4th and 5th Graders.
This year, every student received a copy of the book “Did a Dinosaur Drink This Water? (Wells of Knowledge Science Series)” by Robert Wells, and each winner received a Walmart gift card and a set of 10 Scholastic books.
Other winners were: First Place - Reagan Covey, 5th Grade, Brady Elementary School, Ms. Slatton’s class; and Second Place – Mia Rodriguez, 5th Grade, Brady Elementary School, Ms. Slatton’s class.
