Receipts totaled 2,296 head. The futures market midweek continued to move down due to the uncertainty of what the federal government is going to do to lower beef prices to the consumer. After last weeks increases the stocker steers were

$8-$10 lower with 5 steers

572 lbs at $372.00 ($2127.80) and stocker heifers were $5--

$18 lower. The feeder steers were steady to $2 lower and feeder heifers were steady to

$2 higher. Pairs and bred cows were steady and in very strong demand. Packer cows and bulls were steady. Schaefer Farms sold 25 Angus bulls avg $8740 and Shady Oak Farms sold 18 Charolais bulls avg $9083 and

5 SimAngus bulls avg $8600.
