The San Saba High School boys varsity track and field team had an eventful outing on Friday, March 5, at the annual 2021 Bluebonnet Relays at Gordon Wood Stadium in Brownwood.
Several Dillos placed highly in their respective events against several larger schools including host Brownwood High School, Stephenville High School, Brock High School, Harker Heights High School, Lampasas High School, and others.
In the boys’ 400-meter dash, seniors Stone Sears and Logan Glover placed first and second, respectively, with times of 54.45 and 56.12 seconds. Glover also took home a third-place medal in the boys’ 200-meter dash with a solid mark of 23.94 seconds.
Sears also placed first in the boys’ long jump with a mark of 19-09.25, while Dillos junior runner Reagan Mejia also medaled in his event when he placed third in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:21.19.
San Saba’s next meet will be this week beginning at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 10, at the annual 2021 Llano High School Invitational.
