Following an easy 59-37 victory on February 2 against the Junction Eagles on Senior Night, the Dillos traveled on February 5 for a road contest at Mason and held on for a 40-33 win.

Against the host Punchers, the Dillos got off to a fast start and used a quick 10-2 run to set the tone in the first quarter.

However, a scrappy Punchers team on Senior Night fought its way back in the game and cut the Dillos’ lead to just 18-16 at halftime with hopes of a big upset.

Fortunately, a dynamic third quarter and start to the fourth quarter helped the San Saba lead grow to as many as 16 points thanks to dominant play in the post on both offense and defense by senior forwards Logan Glover and C. J. Greenwell.

Despite a night where the Dillos struggled from behind the arc, Glover and Greenwell led the way with 13 and 12 points, respectively. San Saba junior guard Reagan Mejia had himself another solid game with nine points, while senior guard Risien Shahan added six points.

After the Dillos travel on February 9 to take on rival Goldthwaite High School, San Saba will host Johnson City High School on February 12 in the 2020-21 regular-season finale.

Now at 16-3 overall during the season, the Dillos have now won 10 district games in a row and are looking to finish a perfect slate of District 29-2A games before the playoffs start the following week.
