The First Christian Church will host Baccalaureate Services Sunday, May 23, 2021 at 6 p.m. Refreshments will be provided for our graduating seniors and guests. Richland Springs ISD high school graduation will be Friday, May 28, 2021, at 7:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Richland Springs. Senior students are Landon Burkhart, Zachary Capps, James Carlisle, Dawson Crysler, Chase Gossett, Timothy Grant, Cash Krause, Court Krause, Madia Norris, Coty Ott, and Kaitlin Sutherland.

Richland Springs eighth grade graduation will be held in the Richland Springs Cafetorium at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 27. Eighth grade students are Gage Behrens, Jim Eckermann, Janet Gibson, Ezikel Hoevers, Austin Lewis-McKee, Cody Martin, Luis Oyervides, Hutton Rogers, Mackenzie Schuessler, Jacob Sweeney, Hudson Tharp, Madison Thurmon, Shawn Wall, and Shooter Wright.

The Richland Springs boys and girls athletes fared well at the State Track Meet in Austin. Overall, the Richland Springs team placed 5th at the 1A state meet with a total team score of 30 points. Individual placings are as follows:

Jadeyn Bryant, Nick Nilson, Zane Capps, Landon Burkhart 3rd in the 4X100M relay;

Zane Capps 3rd in the 100M run and 4th in the Long Jump;

Jadeyn Bryant 2nd in the 300M hurdles;

Raegan Wright, Lili Appleton, Ryleigh Bryant, Brynlii Chandler 9th in the 4X200M relay;

Ryleigh Bryant 6th in the 200M run.

The State Track Meet in Mike Myers Stadium was a great stage to showcase these young athletes’ talents. Congratulations to these students on their outstanding accomplishments this year!

The annual Alumni Banquet was held last Saturday in the gym. I know of no other alumni banquet like this one anywhere in the State of Texas. Thanks to all involved for keeping this reunion alive and well.

If you see a teacher in public, tell them how much you appreciate their efforts. We have a great community, students, teachers and staff.
