WOW! The Richland Springs Coyotes are headed to another State Championship game. The Coyotes defeated the Strawn Greyhounds in the semifinal match-up at Dublin ISD Stadium by a score of 59-56. The road to the state championship travels next through the Balmorhea Bears at AT&T Stadium on Wednesday, December 16th, at 11:00 a.m. The Coyotes are excited about traveling to Arlington again and playing in AT&T Stadium. The road to the state championship takes over four months, from the first day of practice to the culmination in the state championship game. We are proud of our success, and would like to thank Coach Jerry Burkhart, Coach Shawn Rogers, assistant Coach Haustin Burkhart, the managers, and all the team members for all of their hard work. Kudos to the cheerleaders, and to all the volunteers who supported the team each week.

Girls’ basketball Coach Dara Chandler and the Lady Coyotes are off to a great start. The Lady Coyotes next varsity basketball action this week will be at Albany on Tuesday, December 8th, at 6:30 p.m. The varsity boys have yet to play their first game as they are advancing to the State football championship game. The Richland Springs junior high boys’ team has a 0-1 record, and the girls’ team is undefeated with a 1-0 record. Both teams are both doing well this season and are fun to watch. Come out and support our young athletes in UIL competition.

It’s great to see our community supporting students in their efforts to achieve. We have a great community, students, teachers and staff. It takes everyone working together to achieve success. Gas up the vehicles and prepare to hit the road to the State game at Arlington to support the 2020 Richland Springs Coyotes.
