Shirley Louise Fulton Holder Parris, age 75, of Brownwood passed away September 18, 2021 at a local nursing home.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Heritage Funeral Home, Davis-Morris Chapel. Her cremains will be interred at Locker Cemetery after the service.

Shirley was the daughter of the late Maning Lee and Pauline Vest Fulton. She was born in Marysville, California, and lived most of her life in Brownwood.

She married Danny Lee Holder in Locker, Texas on December 10, 1964. Danny preceded her in death on January 6, 2005, in Tyler, Texas.

Shirley was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed reading, looking at used bookstores, crocheting, needlepoint, and watching the sci-fi and Hallmark channels on television. When she was able, Shirley enjoyed gardening and tending to her ivy plants.

Shirley is survived by sons: Johnny Holder of San Saba, Fredrick (Freddy) Holder of Brownwood, and Albert (Addy) Holder of Gatesville, Texas; seven grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law: Myrtie Fulton and Wanda Quick.

She was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Lee (Pee Wee) Holder, who passed away on December 15, 2015 in Brenham, Texas; three brothers: Virgil, Odis, and James Fulton; and three sisters: Edda Brown, Patsy Atwater, and Nancy Hamon.
