They were blessed with 2 sons during their marriage. Jon Weston Bessent was born in 1972 and Beau Darin Bessent was born in 1982.
Ronnie’s love of animals and all things outdoors were a big part of his life. He loved fishing, hunting and was able to incorporate that into his children’s lives as well. Ronnie also enjoyed several trips to hunt in Colorado for mule deer and elk.
Ronnie had developed health problems over the recent years, with Parkinson's disease becoming more and more debilitating. He is survived by his wife, his son Beau and his wife Maria, brother Keith Bessent, sister Nita Harris, and sister Vicky Geisler.
Preceded in death by his parents, his son Jon, brother Kelvin, sister-in-law Christine, and brother-in-law John Harris.
A graveside service was at Senterfitt Cemetery on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home in San Saba.

Ronnie Dale Bessent 78, passed away September 25, 2026 at St. David’s Medical Center in Austin, Texas.
He was the oldest of five children born to Wanda Jean Yarbrough and Willard Gorman Bessent.
He served in the army as a Hawk missile crewman and served 15 months overseas in Okinawa and Korea. He was honorably discharged on January 1970 at the rank of Specialist 5.
He married Deanna Juanice Bessent on July 22, 1966 and they shared their 60th wedding anniversary together this past July.
