Pauline Stewart, age 90, of San Saba, Texas, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, June 11, 2020. Pauline was born on a farm in San Saba County to her parents William “Mitch” Sanderson and Imogene Robbins Sanderson on April 18, 1930. She attended Live Oak School in San Saba County. Pauline, as a young girl, traveled to California to help with her brother’s children. She returned to San Saba and married a young soldier from Pennsylvania, Kirtland “Johnny” Stewart, who was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas.

Pauline’s greatest interests were her children and grandchildren. She was often heard saying “My children are my best friends.” She loved fishing, junking, yard sales with her children, growing flowers, and the 4th of July fireworks at the park.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her five children: Shelia Lightfoot and husband Ron of Copperas Cove, Texas, Deborah Shannon of Austin, Texas, Susan Stewart of San Saba, Texas, Bruce Stewart and wife Emma of San Saba, Texas, and Paul Stewart and wife Jennifer of San Saba, Texas; grandchildren: Shane Lightfoot, Landon Lightfoot, Joseph Shannon, Spencer Stewart, Elandra Covington, Christopher Stewart, Jeremy Plumley, Ryan Plumley, and Amber Plumley; fourteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, parents, and all her siblings including brothers: Lowell, Fred, Edgar, Clarence D., George Mitchell, Jack Hollis and Billy Frank Sanderson; two sisters: Florene Brumley and Clora Jean Sanderson.

A Graveside Service was held on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at Terry Cemetery in San Saba, Texas at 1:00 p.m. with Brother Sam Crosby officiating. Blaylock Funeral Home of San Saba, Texas was in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to a charity of choice in Pauline’s name.
