Patricia Ann Burnham Pratt

Patricia Ann Burnham Pratt, 68, died June 7, 2021, in Williamson County, Texas. Pat was born June 30, 1952 to Stanley and Mildred (Millie) Burnham in San Saba’s new hospital. She was welcomed by her brother Ronald Burnham and sister Diana Lane Burnham Manning all of whom have survived her.

She is also survived by one aunt, Martha Owen Burnham and one uncle, Paris Burnham, and by cousins Regan Burnham, Raelene Burnham Freasier and Renice Burnham, and by Leigh Burnham, Laura Burnham Eger and Bonalyn Burnham Harris, by Sharon Lane McLauchlin and Janis Beaulieu and by several nieces and nephews, especially Coleman and Amanda Manning and Austin and Dani Manning.

She was preceded in death by grandparents Leslie and Myrtle Burnham and Raymond and Hazel Mendenhall, by uncles Don Burnham, Leslie Edward Burnham and Robert Hanson and aunts Thelma Burnham Janes, Virginia Hanson, and Dorothy Hanson Watts. Pat was known to many in San Saba where she served as director of the San Saba County Volunteer EMS and as a paramedic.

Though Pat was born in San Saba, she spent her childhood in Mineral Wells, Ranger and Abilene before moving to Austin where she attended Lamar Junior High School and McCallum and Holy Cross High Schools.

Before obtaining a degree in business administration from St. Edwards University in Austin, she worked in Dallas and Houston in the fashion merchandising industry. Then using her business training, she worked as an accountant in the restaurant business for several years before entering the United States Army in 1986 serving until 1991. Returning to civilian life in Austin, she worked at the Texas Department of Transportation and the Texas Department of Commerce where she began her training as an EMT. She continued training in emergency medicine, becoming a paramedic in a profession she pursued the rest of her life. She served in Austin EMS and Bastrop EMS before coming to San Saba. She also spent a number of years as a member of the Texas State Guard.

A private memorial service will be held for Pat at a later date.
