Odessa “Babe” Edwards

Odessa “Babe” Edwards, age 101 of San Saba, Texas, passed away peacefully into the arms of her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, at San Saba Nursing and Rehabilitation. Babe was born on April 15, 1919, at home in Bowser, Texas, to Connie McKinnerney and Nellie (Myers). In 1941, Babe married Burlie Edwards. They enjoyed a loving marriage of 50 years, making a lifetime of memories. Burlie preceded her in death in 1992. Babe enjoyed life on the farm, church, music and most of all, being surrounded by her family and many friends. She was outgoing and loved by many. She will be missed by all.

Babe is survived by two brothers: A.D. McKinnerney of Richland Springs, Texas, and Floyd McKinnerney of Hondo, Texas; and two sisters: Ozell Yates of San Antonio, Texas, and Geneva White of Midland, Texas. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews: Gayland McKinnerney, Judy Womack, Dale McKinnerney, Rickie McKinnerney, Connie Wente, Mackie McKinnerney, Treasa Miller, Gwenell Miller, Sam White, Jan Files, Patty Weid, Deryl McKinnerney, Ed Grumbles, Mary Joe Benne, Will Templeton, Jeff Edwards, and Mike Edwards. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Burlie Edwards; three brothers: W.H. McKinnerney, John McKinnerney and Jim McKinnerney; two sisters: Etta Solsbery, and Venita Martin; four nieces: Patsy Mulkholland, Jeannie Templeton OGrady, Carolyn Gibson, and Cleona Solsberry; and two nephews: Mike Grumbles and David Edwards.

A Graveside Service was held on Sunday, November 8, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. with Larry Conners officiating at Richland Springs Cemetery in Richland Springs, Texas. Blaylock Funeral Home of San Saba, Texas, in charge of arrangements.
