Mario/Pop was the second youngest son of Mike and Marta Gonzales, born October 28, 1965, in San Saba, Texas.
At 18, Mario and Helen started their wonderful life together. They married August 5, 1988. They had two children, Eric and Brooke.
Mario was known for always cracking jokes and making everyone around him laugh. He lived for his family and friends. Mario’s favorite pass time was drinking, listening to music, and working in his garden. He worked for the Barfield ranch for over 30 years.
Mario was preceded in death by his father, Mike Gonzales Jr., and one brother, Albert Gonzales.
He is survived by his wife Helen Gonzales, son Eric Morgan and wife Amy, and daughter Brooke Gonzales as well as grandchildren: Justyce Gonzales, Rihanna Morgan, Jadae Gonzales and Ryton Morgan; his mother Marta Gonzales, brother David Gonzales, sister Alicia Salinas and husband Cruz, brother Avilio Gonzales and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Funeral Service was held on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel in San Saba, Texas, at 10:00 a.m. Interment to followed at San Saba Cemetery in San Saba, Texas. Blaylock Funeral Home of San Saba in charge of arrangements.
