Maria Botello Ramirez, 90, of San Saba, Texas passed away peacefully on Friday, October 9, 2020, at her residence, surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren.

Maria was born April 18, 1930 in Pasche, Texas to Crisostomo and Maria De Jesus (Duarte) Botello. Maria married Julian C. Ramirez on July 1, 1951 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in San Saba. Ms. Ramirez was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an outstanding seamstress, and avid reader for much of her life and enjoyed the challenges it presented.

The family of Ms. Ramirez said, “We lost one of our gorgeous Angels this week! Thank you, Mom, for loving us and instilling in us the importance of family and God, compassion for others, and the motivation and support to pursue our dreams and attain them! You have been absolutely amazing to us all and we are truly blessed to have been your children, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, sister, brothers and cousins! Now go and dance with Daddy in Heaven and make the stars sparkle brighter with your love and joy! We love you always and will miss you, especially your angelic voice, smile and laughter!”

Maria is survived by her children: Mary E. Ramirez, Susie and Lewis Garza, Bea and Danny Peek, Janie Jimenez and Quint Hibler, Virginia “Chuco” Ramirez, Julian Ramirez, Jr and Beatriz Ortiz, Berta Ramirez, Felix Ramirez, Ricardo Ramirez, and Julie Ann and Mark Martin.

She is also survived by 19 grandchildren: Sunshine Gomez and Juan Robles, Amy Garza, Ernie and Christy Garza, Monica and Ryne Foster, Christi and Scott Osteen, Mathew Peek, Luke and Ali Peek, Cecilia and Eugene Bessent, Marci Moreno, Jessica and Jay Saucedo, Michael and Jessica Ramirez, Christina and Anthony Tollett, Derek Ramirez, Lauren and Roger Flores, Ariel Ramirez, Jacob Ramirez, Zachary Ramirez, Gabriel Ramirez, Elijah Ramirez, Garrett Martin and Maci Martin.

In addition, Maria is survived by 35 great-grandchildren: Isaiah A. Gomez, Nathaniel Lambert, Nicolas Lambert, Sarah Lambert, Caleb Garza, Asher Garza, Faith Garza, Dean Foster, Raelyn and Chaz Rohman, Tessa Osteen, Wyatt Peek, Lillie Peek, Ava Peek, Easton Peek, Ronan Peek, Mari Zapata and Ike Gossett, Emiliano and Lauren Zapata, Julian Zapata, Adan Huron, Izaah Bessent, Elias Bessent, Tori Moreno, Cooper Moreno, Jalen Saucedo, Jessi Saucedo, Janie Saucedo, Analyssa Ramirez, Jonathan Tollett, Aryana Tollett, Lillie Tollett, Logan Tollett, Orianna Ramirez and Renee Flores.

Maria has three surviving great-great-grandchildren: Jaden Gossett, Hailey Zapata and Haegen Rohman.

Surviving her as well are honorary grandchildren: Corrie Jo Dyson, Mindy Schulze Cantu, Tonia Monroe Pierce, Robyn Fernandez and Silvestre Barco.

Ms. Ramirez was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Julian C. Ramirez; one daughter, Mary Alice Ramirez; one grandson, Marcelo Jimenez Jr.; and six brothers.

Visitation was held Monday, October 12, 2020 at Heritage Funeral Home in San Saba. Recitation of the Holy Rosary followed visitation.

Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in San Saba. Interment followed at San Saba City Cemetery.

Donations can be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Diabetes Foundation, and/or the Never Surrender Cancer Foundation.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Heritage Funeral Home of San Saba.
