Larry Gene Conner

Larry Gene Conner went to be with his Lord on Saturday, May 15, 2021. He was born to Ernest Eugene Conner and Lela Lee (Myers) Conner on February 18, 1944, in San Saba, Texas. He attended school in San Saba and graduated from San Saba High School in 1962.

Larry was interested in sports of any kind, which he did exceptionally well. He received a full scholarship to play football as a fullback at the University of Texas but had a knee injury his senior year that ended his dream. He graduated from the

University of Texas in 1968 with a Doctorate of Pharmacy. Larry served his community well in many towns such as San Saba, Brownwood and Brady. Larry received his Master’s from Abilene Christian University after completing his ministry program from Sunset School of Preaching.

He served as preacher at the Richland Spring Church of Christ for about 30 years. Larry believed in the Bible and Jesus Christ his Savior and never stopped preaching the Word of God. Larry was also passionate about farming, spending many days and late nights tending to the pecan orchard and cows.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, brother-in-law Darel Terry, aunts, uncles and cousins. He is survived by his sister, Betty Terry of Athens Texas; niece, Dr Elizabeth O’Brien and husband Jody O’Brien of Athens; and great nephew, Case O’Brien.

A funeral service was held on Friday, May 21, 2021, at Richland Springs Church of Christ in Richland Springs, Texas, at 10:00 a.m. with Marvin Whitt officiating. Interment to follow at Richland Springs Cemetery.
