Jon Christian Beck, 51, of San Saba, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2025, at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Temple, Texas. A visitation for Jon was held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 7, 2025, at Blaylock Funeral Home in San Saba, Texas. A funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Blaylock Funeral Home, officiated by Tim Brewer, followed by an interment at the Bend Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home in San Saba.
Jon was born on September 15, 1973, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Terry and Vanqueta Beck. He grew up with a deep love for his family and community and graduated from Trevor Brown High School in Phoenix, Arizona, in 1991. Jon began his career at Kroger Food Store in 1990, working there until 2003, before joining Frito-Lay, where he continued his career until his passing.
On August 18, 1995, Jon married Tammy Pruitt in Plano, Texas. Together, they spent 30 years building a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Jon was a proud father to his children, Ashley and Justin, and a devoted grandfather to his grandchildren: Weston, Wyatt, and Chloie. He was an avid supporter of his children’s sports, often volunteering his time, and was also a proud band parent. Jon was a passionate fan of the Chicago Bears and Dallas Mavericks and had a great love for fishing, camping, and going on cruises.
Jon was known for his sense of humor, always quick with a joke that brought joy to everyone around him. His generosity and spirit of service were felt by all who knew him, and he was a committed supporter of the Never Surrender Cancer Foundation.
Jon is survived by his loving wife, Tammy Beck; daughter, Ashley and her husband Dustin Franklin; son, Justin Beck; grandchildren: Weston, Wyatt, and Chloie; his mother, Vanqueta Beck; siblings : Tina (Tim) Collister, Michael (Sarah) Beck, Bonnie (Joey) Potts, and Josh (Kelsey) Beck; mother-in-law, Debbie Pruitt; sister-in-law, Christy (Norman) Pierce II; Nannie Virginia Wise; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Terry Beck; granddaughter, Destiny Franklin; paternal grandparents, Carl and Ella Beck; maternal grandparents, Herman and Polly Franklin; and father-in-law, Dale Pruitt.
