Johnnie Marie Hogan, age 72, of San Saba, Texas, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 18, 2021, in Richland Springs, Texas. Johnnie was born on May 15, 1948, in San Saba, Texas, to Leon Smith and Lois Marie (Haley) Smith. She attended Richland Springs High School and graduated, then went to work at 3M in Brownwood, Texas. Later she met and married Tommy Hogan, and they made their home in Euless, Texas. She was a pioneering woman buying cattle, working them, and riding horseback. In later years, she retired and did tax practitioner work for the public. Johnnie Marie enjoyed swimming, skiing, and being in the water.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are: Tina Capps and her husband, Charles Lee Capps of Richland Springs, Texas; one grandson, Dusty Lee Capps of Richland Springs, Texas; one sister, Jan Edwards of San Saba, Texas; one niece, Jaena and Garrett Sylvia of Carlsbad New, Mexico; one nephew, Chance Edwards and wife, Victoria of Austin, Texas; one great niece, Brooklyn; and one great nephew Landon. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, Frank and Mary.
A Funeral Service was held on Friday, April 23, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. with Johnie Reeves officiating at Blaylock Funeral Chapel in San Saba, Texas. Interment followed at China Creek Cemetery in San Saba County. Blaylock Funeral Home of San Saba in charge of arrangements.
