Harlen D. Barker age 80 of Goldthwaite formerly of San Saba, Texas passed away in Temple, Texas on June 28, 2021. Harlen was born in Pecos, Texas to Brantley Barker and Bessie (Burns). Harlen attended High School in San Saba, Texas. Harlen operated a car dealer business in Mason, Texas and later was the San Saba County Judge for 12 years. Later in life he was a Real Estate Broker until his retirement. Harlen loved old cars and riding a Harley Davidson on the open road. He enjoyed trading cars and giving rides in a convertible. He especially enjoyed time with family. He married Linda (House) of Goldthwaite, Texas on June 16, 2020 where he made his home.
Harlen is survived by his wife; Linda Barker of Goldthwaite, Texas; one daughter Leslie and husband Johnnie George of Emory, Texas; one son Heath Barker of Willow Park, Texas; one son-in-law Houston McGuire of Miles, Texas; step-children Burt House and wife Jean; Cheri and husband Kent Stephen; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; one brother Richard and wife Peggy Barker of San Saba, Texas; two aunts Elizabeth Barker and Juanette Oliver; one nephew, two great nephews and several cousins. Harlen was preceded in death by one son; Wesley Barker wife; Ellen Barker; one daughter Dana McGuire; parents Brantley and Bessie Barker.
A Visitation was held on Friday, July 2, 2021 at San Saba’s First Baptist Church. A Funeral Service was held on Friday July 2, 2021 at San Saba’s First Baptist Church with Brother Sam Crosby officiating. Interment will follow at San Saba Cemetery in San Saba, Texas.
