Eura D. Pappas 87 of Richland Springs, Texas, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2023, in San Saba, Texas. She was born May 6, 1935, in Richland Springs, Texas, to James Walter Land and Hettie Inez Justice Land
Dene grew up and attended school in Richland Springs. She moved to Houston, Texas, and attended Massey Business College. She was employed at United Gas Corp. She met and married the love of her life Chris Pappas on February 13, 1954, in Richland Springs, Texas.
Dene became a homemaker while raising three children; she returned to work in 1978 at Leanco Corp and later Gene Williams Oil Corp. She was a member of Richland Springs Church of Christ. She loved listening to music and her flowers. She attended most of her children's and grandchildren’s sports and events. She was known as Yaya to grandsons and then Yaya D to great-grandchildren. She looked forward to and especially enjoyed seeing her great-grandchildren.
Dene is survived by son, Mike Pappas of Abilene, Texas; two daughters: Martha Couch and husband Danny of Richland Springs, Texas, and Kathy Saunders and husband Tommy of Coleman, Texas; two grandsons: Patrick Couch and wife Bianca of Brownwood, Texas, and Randy Couch and wife Stormi of Richland Springs, Texas; six great-grandchildren: Brynleigh, Leighton, Oakleigh, Randaleigh, Alleigh and Stetson. She is also survived by brother Henry Land and wife Gail, and brother-in-law Roger Crockett, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Dene is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Chris; brothers, James Land and Lawrence Land; and sisters: Mildred Chamberlain, Lomagene Parks, Alice Ladell Land, Dara Lord and Patsy Crockett.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Richland Springs Cemetery Association or Cherokee Children Home.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 12, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Homes – San Saba.
Funeral Service will be Friday, January 13, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Homes- San Saba.
