Emmett Lee Grumbles

Emmett Lee Grumbles, 84, of San Saba, passed away quietly on May 24, 2022, following a battle with cancer.

He was educated in the San Saba public schools, graduating from high school in 1956. After high school, he attended Texas Christian University where he earned a degree in 1962. He then served in the United States Air Force, earning the rank of captain before rejoining civilian life.

From 1972 until 1993, he was employed as a game warden with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. On his retirement, he returned to San Saba where he resided on the family farm where he had grown up. He enjoyed making the rounds of the coffee shops, sampling San Saba's restaurants, fishing, boating, playing golf,, and chatting with his cat.

Emmett was preceded in death by his parents, Irvin and Roxie Taylor Grumbles. He is survived by his bother, John Pat Grumbles of Austin, Texas. He leaves behind many cousins, friends, and good neighbors.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date. His ashes will be interred at Harmony Ridge Cemetery. Blaylock Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
