Elizabeth “Janie” Trojcak was born on November 13, 1928, to Leonard and Lora Coffman in Cherokee, Texas. She grew up in Cherokee, Texas, and grew to know Jesus while attending Cherokee Church of Christ with her family. After high school, she attended Shannon School of Nursing. She met the love of her life, Joe Trojcak, while attending school in San Angelo. They married and had three children – Jimmie, Billy and Lora Jane.

Janie loved the Lord Jesus and brought her family up attending services on Sundays and Wednesdays. She had a wonderful church family at Johnson Street Church of Christ and talked often of her friends there. Janie always brought Jesus into our lives and knew He was her strength.

Janie worked at Shannon for 45 years as an RN. She was a dedicated nurse and helped train many young nurses. Janie spent her life caring for others in the hospital and community. She attended the Shannon School of Nursing reunions regularly and enjoyed the company of her many nursing friends from Shannon Medical Center. She loved being with these friends and meeting in their homes to share life stories and meals after retirement.

Nanny loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She spent many hours cooking delicious meals with her husband, Joe, at Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving and birthday celebrations with the family. She always made extra meals to take to those living alone and the elderly family members.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Trojcak; daughter, Lora Jane Trojcak; sister, Margaret Louge; and brother, William Silas “Bill” Coffman.

Elizabeth is survived by her brother, J.L. “Son” Coffman; sons, Jimmie Trojcak and wife Billa; and Billy Trojcak and wife Becky; grandchildren: Lora Beth Robicheaux (Warren), Kirk Trojcak (Rachel), Tony Trojcak, Jennifer Pitts (Jeremy) and Jeannene Norton; great grandchildren: Jake, Luke and Kate Robicheaux, Harlyn and Shyann Trojcak, and Treasure Norton; and many nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to the Ballinger Healthcare and Rehab Center for taking excellent care of our Nanny. The nurses and staff were a joy to be around and loved Mrs. Trojcak. May God bless them. Thanks also to Hospice of Ballinger, Texas for all they did for Nanny. Paula was great! Thanks also to Dr. Martinez for his care of Nanny. We could not have gone through this without these angels at our side.
