Diane (Di) Dobie, 72, of San Saba, Texas, and formerly of Austin, Texas, passed away December 28, 2021, after a battle with Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis disease (ALS/Lou Gehrig's disease). She was born in Austin, Texas, on December 01, 1949. Diane married Joe K. Dobie Jr. on October 23, 1980, in Austin, Texas. Diane attended Barber College in Austin, Texas, and went on to work 25 years. Diane shaped her career by working for Roy’s of Austin (Men and Women hair cutting and styling), then on to Torres 3 Hair Salon, then on to her own shop called Hair Ways by Diane. Diane retired after 25 years of cutting hair; she was loved and missed by many. Diane enjoyed anything to do with the outdoors, hunting, fishing, wrangling cows and just enjoying nature. Diane loved spending time with her husband Joe, her children, grandchildren and her church family and friends of San Saba's First Baptist Church. For the last 20 plus years, Diane lived in San Saba, Texas, at the 7D Ranch with her husband Joe K. Dobie Jr. of 41 years. She was active in the community and enjoyed her neighbors and friends. Diane managed and served in the Food Pantry for nine years; Diane made many friends and loved servicing each of them. The family would like to thank the San Saba's First Baptist Church for their ongoing care and concern for Diane over the past two years as she fought Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS/Lou Gehrig's disease); so many cards and visits from the church and friends helped Diane ease some of the stress and burden the disease put on her.
Diane is survived by her husband, Joe K. Dobie Jr.; son, Larry Triplett; daughters: Derriel Dobie Oatman, and Tracie McCarley and husband David McCarley; grandsons: Roy Walters, Bryan McCarley, Dalton Oatman, and Kenny Triplett; great grandson, Roy Walters Jr.(RJ); granddaughter, Sklyer Oatman; great granddaughters: Aubree Walters, Addyson Walters and Ashlynn Walters, all in the near surrounding areas of Texas; her sisters: Louise Farmer and Karen Wellenta; and sister-in-law, Joyce Butler, and family. She was preceded in death by her parents: JC and Trudy Whited of Austin Texas; sister Patricia Stuart; and brother Larry, Whited of Austin.
