David C. Rojas

David C. Rojas, age 76, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, July 26, 2025. A visitation for David will be held from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at Blaylock Funeral Home in San Saba. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in San Saba and will be officiated by Father Jojappa Polisetty. An interment will follow the funeral service and will take place at Big Valley Cemetery in San Saba.

Born on March 24, 1949, in San Angelo, Texas, David was the third of six children born to Pedro F. Rojas, Jr. and Anita Cruz. He spent his life in San Saba where he worked hard and raised his family.

David married his lifelong partner, Herminia Martinez, and together they celebrated 57 years of marriage. He worked as a butcher/ meat craftsman all his life for San Saba Locker Plant, Modern Way Grocery Store and Hibler & Sons Processing. David was a talented meat artisan and could grill any cut of meat to perfection.

David was a devout member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. David had a love for animals and was always known to be raising game cocks and hens, lambs, sheep, goats, dogs, or cats. He always made sure they all had plenty of food and water.

David was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. David was preceded in heaven by his parents, Pedro F. Rojas, Jr. and Anita Rojas; brothers, Pete Rojas III and Richard Rojas; and great-grandson, Elijah James Otto.

He is survived by his wife, Herminia Rojas; sons and daughters-in-law: Adam and Marie Rojas, and Rudy and Shiloh Rojas; grandchildren: Katrina and Josiah, Alexis, Rudy Rojas, Jr. and Jennifer, Karissa and Ryan, Jared and Jessica, and Allysa and Richard; great-grandchildren: Natalie, Lathan, Livia, Elisha, and Xavier; brother, Pablo and Anita; sisters: Mary Reyes, Theresa and George Salinas; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends that loved him dearly.

Pallbearers: Jesus Rosales, Javier Martinez, Rudy Rojas, Jr., Armando Rojas, Pete Torres, and Jared Rojas.

Honorary Pallbearers: Troy Hibler, Pete Hibler, Gilbert Flores, Richard Flores, Adolfo Flores, George Salinas, Jerry Reyes, and Rodney Huberty.
