Christopher Scott Sims

With heavy heart, we announce the death of Christopher Scott Sims, 50, of Lometa, Texas. He passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022, in Temple, Texas.

Memorial services were held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at 3 p.m. with military honors.

Scott “Skippy” Sims was born July 15, 1971, in Garland, Texas, to parents, Ricky and Barbara (Bagby) Sims. He faithfully served his country in the US Army as a mechanic and machinist. Scott was a family man, and his family remained the most important thing in his life. He loved his Harley, and music, and expressed his personality through his musical taste.

In charge of the Richland Springs Post Office since 2019, Scott approached his job with an unwavering spirit of serving others. His customers will miss his kindness, his smiles, and the way he was always ready to brighten the day of anyone who visited his post office. He was a hard-working man who touched a lot of people's lives in his 50 years.

Scott was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Sims.

Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Cynthia Sims; father, Ricky Sims; daughters: Magan Westbrook, Skyler Buteaux and husband Dax, Sonia Edmondson and husband Jeremy, and Ashley Lacaze; sons, Dakota Hand and Dillon Sims; brothers: Randall Sims, Mark Sims, and Jimmy Reed; sister, Lori Robinson; grandchildren: Grayson, Rylee, Charlie, Kinsey, Otto, Elijah, Nikki, Noelle, and Nolan.

Memorials may be sent to the Texas Autism Society or donor’s favorite charity.
