Billy Joe McIntosh went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 29, 2023, in San Antonio, Texas.
Billy Joe was born on March 6, 1930, in Bangs, Texas, to Hulan and Violet Sawyer McIntosh. He graduated from San Saba High School in 1947. He attended Tarleton State University and Texas Tech University. He served in the United States Army from 19531955. On February 18, 1957, he married Mildred Elaine Barker.
They had two children Adriane and Jeffrey. Billy Joe worked on the farm with his dad raising turkeys. Then in 1962, he went to work for City National Bank as a bookkeeper. He retired in 1992. After retiring he continued to raise cattle and farm. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather (Papa Joe) and great-grandfather.
He is predeceased by his parents; his wife, Mildred Barker Mc-Intosh; and son-in-law, Jimmie Shahan.
He is survived by his daughter, Adriane Shahan; and, Jeffrey McIntosh and wife Leslie; grandchildren: Heather Elaine Martin and husband Ben, John Franklin Brown II and wife Grace, Megan Cameron and husband Cody, Tyler Joe McIntosh and wife Brittany, and Marshal McIntosh; great-grandchildren: Ian Martin, Violet Martin, Penelope Martin, Connor Cameron, and Everleigh McIntosh, as well as extended family, Shayna Norris and husband Daniel and children, along with several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was May 3, 2023, from 5-7 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, and Graveside Service was 10:00 a.m. May 4, 2023, at the San Saba City Cemetery.
