Betty Miller passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, August 19, 2022, in Lampasas, Texas. Betty was born in San Saba, Texas, to Edgar Neal Thornton and Victoria Neal Howard. Betty married George Willis Miller on June 14, 1947, in San Saba, Texas. Betty was a waitress at the Ranchman’s Tower, Dietician at the San Saba Memorial Hospital, and she retired after 40 years from Harry’s Ladies Store in San Saba, Texas. She was a member of The Sharon Club and San Saba’s First Baptist Church.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her children: daughter Gaylee Smith of Lampasas, Texas, daughter Cherylise Wright and husband Bobby of Austin, Texas, son Michael Miller and wife Carolyn of Bluffton, Texas, and daughter–in-law Dora Miller of San Saba, Texas; grandchildren: Jayme Valles and husband Simon of Lampasas, Texas, Melissa Miller and fiancé Seth of San Saba, Texas, Marsiela Shahan and husband Stephen of Fredericksburg, Texas; Mandy Clifton and husband Wade of Goldthwaite, Texas, Justin Miller and wife Heather of Austin, Texas, Jordan Miller of San Saba, Texas, and George Scott Miller of Dallas, Texas; greatgrandchildren: Lane King, Kenlee Turner, Brant Long, Pason King, Kenton Clifton, Taysom Miller, Landry Joy Shahan, Brysom Miller, and West Clifton. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Scott Miller, sister Gloria Lusty, brothers Ed Thornton and Bill Thornton, sister-in-law Marty Brister and in-law parents George and Willie Miller.

In Lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the San Saba All-Sports Booster Club-Scott Miller Scholarship Fund at Arrowhead Bank in San Saba.
