The Riata Roundup Rodeo and LTX BBQ Fest is back!
The Lampasas County Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center is excited to be hosting the 2023 Riata Roundup Rodeo & LTX BBQ Fest Presented by Hoffpauir Auto & Outdoor Group. The event starts Thursday, April 27th, and continues Friday, April 28th, and Saturday, April 29th. The event will take place at the 580 Sports Complex, located at 2351 FM 580 West in Lampasas, Texas. The Diamond Cross Rodeo Company is back to produce the CPRA Professional Rodeo, there is something for the entire family to enjoy.
Thursday night kicks off with slack beginning at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday gates will open at 4:30 p.m. for the Rodeo with Mutton Bustin’ at 6:30 p.m. and the Rodeo events immediately following. There will be plenty of activities to enjoy including Calf Roping, Bronc Riding, Ranch Bronc Riding, Break Away Roping, Team Roping, Mutton Bustin’, Calf Scramble, Queen & Princess Contest, Breakaway, Barrel Racing, Steer Wrestling, Bull Riding, Food Trucks/Vendors, Kid’s Activities, and more. New addition this year include trick rider performances and concerts each night following the rodeo!
On Saturday before the Rodeo, gates open at 9 a.m. for the State Championship LTX BBQ Fest. Events include a BBQ Competition where registered teams will vie for points, bragging rights and awards. For the kid grill masters, make sure they take part in the Kids Que Contest. Sign your team and kids up today to take part in the fun. After the BBQ contest, head down to the Rodeo that evening for more festivities. Prizes will be awarded for all events and categories.
Military and first responders with proper identification will get in FREE on Friday. The event is BYOB each night; no glass containers will be permitted, and lawn chairs are always recommended.
