Lenny's Life Lessons

Hello, San Saba sweethearts! I hope you had an amazing week since last we spoke. Life here at The Park at Armand Bayou has been busy and interesting. My servant went a bit crazy, thought she could usurp my power, but we shall discuss that later.

The weather has been incredible so my servant and I have been spending time on the patio relaxing. It faces the dog walk, and I met Ensle, a dog as large as a doe, and I am not exaggerating! He came up to my railing to say hello, and his head was bigger than my entire body! Boy was I happy when his owner said,” He is friendly.” I would look really weird without my dachshund nose! It is so lovely meeting new friends, watching the deer, and seeing all the birds; so peaceful! One would never know we live in the city.

My servant decided she was going to take control of our home. She stated as much and I just laughed until my sides hurt, and dachshunds have very long sides! She told me if I did not comply with her mandates, I would be put in kennel time out, not be given snack privileges, and other ridiculous rules! As she was talking, I used my eyes to convey my feelings and moved my body closer and closer to her. By the time she was at the end of her diatribe, my face was so near hers, my incredibly sad eyes were looking into hers with the most pitiful, hurt look imaginable. Needless to say, I am still the boss of everything!

Dad came home from the hospital last Monday, so I have to share my servant now. She has to cook a lot more so that is a bonus for me. Wait, do I sound selfish, egotistical, completely self-involved? Ignore it, a dachshund speaks from its stomach always. We can have a meal, see someone eating right after, and jump in their lap to steal their food! Trust me, there is no intermittent fasting in our world, no fad diets!

I have to say, I am enjoying visiting San Saba this way. I feel as if I am hugging you in a very special way. I bet you would recognize me on the street, smile, and come greet me with a hug. I would hug you back because I already love you to chicken bits! LLB
