Hello from Bend, Another week has gone by…. way too fast! Heck, another year for that matter. I will be turning a year older on Friday. Yuck. Folks tell me I’m still a youngin’, but it doesn’t feel that way. My hair has “white highlights,” my knees pop, and my favorite part of the day is the end of it. Haha!
River and I made a trip over the weekend to see my sister, Beth, and my youngest niece, Blake. Poor baby Blake has spent the majority of her young five months in and out of hospitals. In about a week, my sister is traveling from the DFW area to Boston to the best pediatric hospital in the U.S. Blake is scheduled for heart surgery in two weeks, but doctors are still not sure if that will remedy the numerous other issues she has. It is terrifying when your kiddo is sick, but even worse when doctors are stumped and can’t find answers. Please continue to keep them in your prayers.
Charlene and Jackie Brister have been struck with Covid again, so please keep them in your constant prayers.
I got to see Jerome Meischen last week which is always a blessing. He has been having some dizzy spells lately so please pray for Jerome as well.
I was also blessed to see Dickie Eckhoff a couple times last week. I found out where he, Leon, and Jim Boering are hanging out for a meal each Friday, and I plan to meet them there soon.
I almost found a home for Gretchen, my Potbelly Pig, but after a phone call with Sylvia Stinnett, she and I both realized that her daughter, Autumn, almost had us tricked. You see, Autumn wanted Gretchen, but it seems she wanted Gretchen at Sylvia and Jimmy’s house, not hers. Autumn almost planned it perfectly. I was ready to plan Gretchen’s trip to the Stinnett’s. I laughed so hard telling Sylvia that I could just imagine the look on her face delivering a PotBelly pig to her yard! It reminded me of the stories of little kids sneaking animals into their bedrooms hiding them from their parents. Haha. Good tryAutumn! I was *rooting* for you!! Pun intended.
Patsy Henniger has an upcoming hip surgery. Mickey and Jill will both be coming in to visit and assist with things. Please pray the surgery goes well, and the recovery goes smooth.
Pete has been having a rough time. This cancer treatment has seemed to respond good so far, but the effects of it have not been easy. He’s been in quite a bit of pain. Please, please, continue your prayers for him.
That’s all I’ve got for this week, folks! Lots of needed prayers for many in the community. Remember to call your neighbors, check on your friends, tell your loved ones you love them. A few moments of your time that might seem insignificant to you, well, it could mean the world to someone else.
Until next week, Brandie from the Bend 325-628-3545 <Countrybrandie@gmail.com>
