Eugenio Botello Perez, 52, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2023. He was born July 9, 1970, to Joe A. and Pauline Perez in San Saba, Texas, and was the youngest of six children. He grew up in San Saba where he attended school until his graduation in 1988. He later attended TSTI in Waco, Texas, for photography. He lived in Dallas for many years before moving back to San Saba. Eugenio was currently employed by J Squared Structures.
Eugenio married Christie Young on December 27, 2010, and they raised five children together.
Eugenio was always the life of the party and could be counted on for a good laugh, no matter the situation. Whether he was telling the joke, being the butt of the joke, or just being himself, you could count on your sides hurting before he left. He enjoyed spending time with his family, grilling, going to the beach, and the Dallas Cowboys.
Eugenio is survived by his wife, Christie; daughters: Kaysha Fuentes and Chris Brown, Amber Montoya and Paul Gonzalez, Kaytlyn Montoya, and Miranda Follins; son, Christopher and Lara Fuentes; and his grandchildren: Kaycyn, Christian, Darian, Mary Jane, and Nicholas.
He is also survived by his mother, Pauline Perez, and his siblings: Diana and Sam Stewart, Joe and Julie Perez, Carlos Perez, and Estella and Joey Soto. He leaves behind several nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly as his own.
Eugenio is proceeded in death by his father, Joe A. Perez; brother, Gabriel Perez; and stepson, Nicholas Daniel Fuentes.
Services for Eugenio will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 2:00 p.m. with Father Javier Toscano officiating. Burial will follow in the San Saba City Cemetery in San Saba. Rosary and visitation will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2023, from 6-8 with Augustina Rodriguez leading the rosary.
Pallbearers for Eugenio’s service are: Ryan Soto, Aaron Perez, Riley Soto, Jose Perez III, Malachi Perez, and Chris Brown.
Honorary Pallbearers are: Brent Young, Sam Stewart, Joey Soto, Jack Huff, Jody Ray, and Matt Peck.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to “The Never Surrender Cancer Foundation of San Saba County” in his name.
