She called and called and called

Most mornings my wife will feed our little bunch of sheep and goats. Last week, one of our black wooled ewes (female sheep) had the cutest baby lamb.

Well, a couple of days later my wife came hurriedly back to the house and said, “Her baby is missing, and the mother is down there calling and calling for it.” We looked, and sure enough, something got that baby lamb in the night. That ewe has quit calling now! That event reminds me of something in the Bible.

God is really a very patient, loving God that just wants good for us, (Lamentations 3:22 & 23, 1 Corinthians 2:9, John 3:16). Jesus Christ came to rescue or save us from Hell, eternal punishment, and separation from God, forever, (John 4:14, Luke 19:10).

After His death and resurrection, He has been calling all people to come to Him. He was calling people to Himself before His death on the cross, (John 4:14). But there will come a time He will quit calling, and there will be no more hope.

There is hope today; it is not too late. We can call upon Him, (Matthew 7:7, Romans 8:39, 1 John 5:11). He will forgive our sins, give us a new spirit, a new life filled with love, joy and peace, and the hope of a new future with Him in heaven forever, (Romans 5:5 6:23, 1 Peter 3:18, John 5:24). See you in Church next Sunday.
