One way the American Indians kept track of time was to have a special stick, and each New Year they put another notch on that stick. To put another notch on the stick would signify a new year has arrived.
I like to look at the pictures on my I phone so I am able to see many things that happened last year. Last year brought many events into our lives. Some were fun; some were painful. God makes both, (Ecclesiastes 3:1-4).
Many things are going on our world today. Yes, there are wars and many rumors of war, but God said that these things had to take place, (Matthew 24:6, Mark 13:7).
My personal goal, with God's help: I want to be very close to God and Him close to me. I will try to read my Bible daily and attend a local Church regularly. I also want the way I live my life to be pleasing to Him, (Romans 12:1, 2). I would also hope, (pray) that my children, loved ones and friends are close to God. (Psalm 55:1, Matthew 21:22, Philippians 4:6, 7).
One day the Lord Jesus is going to come back to this world in all His power and glory and put a stop to all the bad things going on, (Titus 2:13, Acts 1:11). It was not last year but could be this year, (1 Peter 1:3, 13, 21). See you in Church next Sunday.
