Hello from Bend, It has been a hectic time around the Bend lately for several community members. Continued prayers are needed for Raymond Hicks and family. This last week he was rushed from San Saba from the rehabilitation center to the hospital again and ended up back in Austin. Raymond was discovered to have some bleeding ulcers while still in recovery from his surgery due to his previous fall. Please keep Lewvon, Bobby, Debbie, and Laura Beth in your prayers as well. These times in life can be so stressful and exhausting, and it really does take a village! I am proud to be a part of the Bend Village!
Around the corner, Toby and Vicky McWilliams are still in need of prayers as well. Both had surgery on the same day, in the same hospital. Vicky faced some issues after her surgery and made her way back to the hospital. I hear that Shari Raesz and husband, Steve, were a huge help to the McWilliams family during this time, and Charlene and Jackie Brister as well. Both Toby and Vicky are now both home and recovering.
Pete Henniger needs prayers desperately. While we are still waiting on insurance and the new treatment to be accepted, his pain has become pretty bad. Last week was filled with doctor appointments and even a trip to the Austin Seton ER. I am getting very angry at cancer here lately.
We did however make a trip to Austin on Thursday night last week to attend a Christian concert (Ben Fuller and Zach Williams) that we’ve had tickets for. Pete, myself, and two of my kiddos, Waylon and River, went to Austin City Limits Live at the Moody Theater. We all needed the spiritual feeding, and I must say that it was absolutely incredible. I secretly managed to get ahold of the opening performer, Ben Fuller, and made a special request….. and he obliged. Ben Fuller played a few songs and then stopped to speak to the crowd. He announced that there was someone in the crowd that needed prayer, gave a summary of the health issues, called out Pete Henniger by name and then…….. the entire venue of 3,200 people bowed their heads in prayer for Pete as Ben prayed. It was SO emotional, SO beautiful, and SO powerful. Pete was so surprised and touched. Again, I can’t begin to describe how incredible it was. Ben Fuller even met us after, and we privately prayed together. I cannot thank him enough; what a HUGE blessing.
My oldest kiddo, Skylar, turned 18, on November 19th and yes, I cried and cried. I can’t believe my first baby has grown into a whole adult human. It’s soooo weird to grasp.
Happy Birthday goes out this week to Nick Henniger as well, who celebrates on November 21st!
Cherokee High School and the mighty Cherokee Indian football team are making themselves known in a strong way this season. They are undefeated and now in the state quarterfinals!!!!! The Bend community wishes them continued success!
The Bend Community Meeting was held this last Saturday, November 19th, and a good time was had! During the meeting it was announced that next month the Christmas party will be on December 17th at 6 p.m… and SANTA will be there!!!
