Construction has begun on the south end of town, on what I’ve been told will be a Taco Shop. That will be so amazing! Every morning, I contemplate cooking breakfast, but my brain says NO!
From what the grapevine is telling, construction of several barndominums will begin in the near future in the new subdivision of Rocky Hollow, north of town.
I've been doing a little fall decorating in town. I just love fall!
Most of the residents of Cherokee traveled to Richland Springs Friday night for our first district game of the 2022 season. In case you don't know, the Cherokee Indians and the Richland Springs Coyotes are huge rivals in sports, but most especially on the football field. With an ending score of 78-47, the Indians came home with their first district win.
I had the honor of cooking pizza for the victors upon their return to town. A big thank you goes out to J2X Services out of Purmela,Texas, for funding the meal. Joseph Scott, the owner of J2X is a 2004 graduate of CISD and a proud ex-Indian player himself.
We are so proud of all of our youth here in Cherokee!
I'd like to also congratulate the Coyotes on a game well played.
Candice Henderson is still rehabbing and has moved to Granite Mesa Health Center in Marble Falls.
Ben Cambel is in the hospital, and we’re all praying for him and for his family.
Have a great week, and I'll see you Around the Corner!
