Hello from Bend!
To say it’s been a busy last few weeks would be an understatement. Don’t you just wish we had a ‘pause’ button on life sometimes?? I reckon’a ‘rewind’ and ‘fast forward’ button would come in handy sometimes, too, haha. You know, a mute button should be a must-have!
Sighhhh. I digress. My oldest kiddo, Skylar, was crowned Cherokee High School Homecoming Queen a couple weeks ago. She took my breath away with how lovely she looked. I am in complete shock and denial that she will be turning 18 next month. Wow. Be still my heart.
My mom is off on a new adventure. She traveled last week and is visiting my sister, Bethany, who is about to have Baby #4: Blake Marie. Oh my goodness, I can’t wait to meet her. She is set to make her entrance into the world any day now!
Speaking of birthdays, I’ve gone to two whopping birthday parties this week alone! Jamie Clark just had a birthday and on Saturday, October 1st. There was a fabulous party for sweet, little Abby, daughter to Jamie Clark and husband Matt Norris. Abby turned one year old; she had a lovely turnout, hosted at grandparents’ William and Jane Clark’s house. The very next evening was an early celebration for Pete Henniger whose birthday is on October 4th! Pete had quite the turnout as well.
Jerome Meischen had surgery recently and is recovering nicely in Lampasas. Also in Lampasas under medical care is Ms. Tommie Marley. Please keep them both in your thoughts and prayers. We are all ready to have them back home!
Graveside memorial services for Doris (Henniger) Poe will be held October 9th, 3:00 p.m. at the Alexander Family Cemetery.
I hope you all have had a wonderful week. Life really is too short. I have so many complaints about the year of 2022, including the fact that it brought me to my 40. (That’s right. Singular. Not plural. Don’t even try to add an apostrophe 's' yet). I now could be grouped into the EEOC’s Age Discrimination category. *shakes head* However, with the age of *Karen* comes the power of realization and how much gets taken for granted on a daily basis. I certainly appreciate everyone’s patience as I’ve missed a handful of articles collectively the last few months. I’m going to do my best to keep the news trucking along, but if you’ve got something to share, I’d love to hear it! *smile* Yours Truly, Brandie from the Bend 325-628-3545 countrybrandie@gmail.com
