Do We Really Take the Time?

I remember the time my wife and children really surprised me at Christmas. They all got together and bought me a small digital camera. My wife taught me how to turn it on, and I briefly looked at the instruction manual but never took the time to read it carefully.

One day I went into a camera shop to get some pictures printed, and the clerk asked me if I knew what my camera could do. He demonstrated a few things with the camera. So I decided to get out the camera manual and start reading so I would know all about the camera and all the different things it would or could do. It would also mean I could enjoy it a whole lot more.

It can be the same way in our Christian life if we don’t read and study the manual, (The Bible, God’s Holy Word). We will never get the full benefit of knowing God and enjoying our relationship with Him. Going to Sunday morning worship service, (Deuteronomy 31:12,13, Joshua 8:35), Bible study at Church or in small home groups, or just reading it quietly at home are just a few ways to learn the Bible. Reading the Bible lets God speak to us. I use a good study Bible, and I pray that God will help me to understand it, (Joshua 1:8, 9). See you in Church next Sunday.
