What a week it has been in Bend. We’ve got a lot of struggles with health here lately. Is it wrong for me to want to imply that maybe there’s a correlation between that and our top-quality water?? For all Corix customers that received the rate increase notice…oh, and the notice that we have roughly a 100-day supply of water in reserve to last us all until we get some rain and the mighty Colorado River rises! You can visit https://interchange. puc.texas.gov/filer to file a complaint with the Public Utilities Commission.
Speaking of the river…. WOW. I remember the drought of 2011 well, but this is far beyond that! It is downright scary. Pictured below is the Colorado River (located at Colorado Bend State Park’s boat ramp). This picture was just captured on Monday, August 15. What is needed is a rain dance, prayers, singing songs about rain, light some rain scented candles, burn some sage, confess your sins, and rain dance and pray again! Surely we’re bound to stir up some precipitation with a mixture like that! Now don’t judge! I don’t see anyone else with any better ideas. *wink* On a happy note, I am so pleased to announce that Jane Clark finally had surgery Monday at Austin Heart, and the surgery went great! According to family, Jane was in great spirits and ready to get out of her room and dance a little jig up and down the hallways. What a wonderful God we serve! Praise the Lord, Hallelujah!
To keep that good news rolling… Jerome Meischen was in the hospital this last week with a terrible infection. Thanks to some powerful antibiotics, Jerome is back home! *YAY* I can tell you one thing for sure, it NEVER fails; Jerome brightens my day with a huge smile and laughter every time I see him. The world is definitely a better place because he is in it.
I wouldn’t mind being added onto the prayer list this week if you all could spare a moment. I had a medical procedure done last week and the biopsy was sent to Houston for testing. Results will be up to two weeks… waiting is not easy, but I have so many blessings to focus on in the meantime.
Diana Matthews is still recovering from her recent surgery, but everything went great and she has a large support group to lean on when needed. Diana, you can call me anytime!!! *smile* School started last week for my kiddos, and so far, so good. There have been zero hard morning moments so far…and I’m sure I just jinxed myself, haha. I am looking forward to a great school year for my kiddos! The practices are in full swing, and it won’t be long until we will be doing a lot of traveling for football! I hope I don’t lose my voice this year, haha. I also hope I don’t stand up too quickly/excited in the bleachers, and then without realizing it sit down in my fresh, full serving of nachos….yes, with the melted nacho cheese. Can’t take me anywhere, ha! But I promise, you’d have fun regardless and definitely end up with silly stories to tell.
Until next week, Brandie from the Bend 325-628-3545 countrybrandie@ gmail.com
