Oliver Pecan Company Wins New Product Award in Nut and Other Oil Category sofiTM Awards
Nearly 2,000 Products Competed for the Top Specialty Food Association Award
Oliver Pecan Company has won the new product award in the Nut and Other Oil Category as part of the Specialty Food Association’s (SFA) 2022 sofi ™ Awards, a top honor in the $170.4 billion specialty food industry.
Oliver Pecan’s All-Natural, Cold Pressed Pecan Oil was one of 102 winners selected by a panel of specialty food experts from nearly 2,000 entries across 53 product categories. Products are judged on taste, including flavor, appearance, texture and aroma, ingredient quality, and innovation. All tastings are anonymous and are held at the Rutgers Food Innovation Center. “We are honored that our Pecan Oil has won the New Product Award,” says Holt Oliver who headed the developed of the product for Oliver Pecan. “As a company, we have made it a focus of ours to develop products so that nothing goes to waste, the pecan oil started as a zero-waste project that has turned into one of our most exciting products. With health benefits and culinary versatility, we believe the sky is the limit for the pecan oil.”

The sofi™ Awards are open to members of the SFA and have been given each year since 1972. Winners will be showcased at the 2022 Summer Fancy Food Show, running June 12-14, at the Javits Center in New York City. Open only to the trade, it is the largest East Coast B2B-only specialty food and beverage show.

Gordon Lee and Clydene Oliver founded Oliver Pecan Company with nothing more than two cane poles and a bucket on the banks of the San Saba and Colorado Rivers.
