Elizabeth Ann Stewardson Barker passed away on Friday, July 15, 2022, at her home peacefully surrounded by her family. She was born on October 19, 1928 in Shield in Coleman County to Hardy Ellis Stewardson and Birdie (Barton). Elizabeth married Marlis Ceburn Barker in San Saba, Texas, on October 4, 1952. They were members of San Saba’s First Baptist Church. She enjoyed going out to eat and having coffee with friends several times a week. She worked as a secretary and receptionist early in life. Elizabeth welcomed family visits any time to her very wellkept home. She enjoyed working and keeping a beautiful yard and flower beds.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Bruce Barker, and wife, Teri, of Big Horn, Wyoming; sister, Francis Skiles of Weatherford, Texas; son-in-law, Tom Burson of Silverton, Texas; grandson, Donny Burson and wife Brooke; two granddaughters, Morgan Stalick and Brook Johnson both from Wyoming; three great-grandsons: Finn, Marlis, and Jhett; one great-granddaughter, Acey; and another great-grandson on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marlis; daughter, Debra Burson; and two brothers, J.L. and Boyd Stewardson.
A Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at San Saba’s First Baptist Church with Brother Sam Crosby officiating. Interment followed at San Saba Cemtery.
